“In Loving Memory”\n\nDick passed away October 1, 2005 peacefully at his home in Murray surrounded by his family. Born June 12, 1919 in Magna, UT to Anton & Mina Bentson Andersen. Married Veva Collett on November 23, 1945; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nDick served in the US Navy and is a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He worked for Allen Steel 41 years as a shop foreman. Dick was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and magnified his numerous callings. He was known and loved for his strong testimony and story telling.\n\nSurvived by his wife, Veva; sons and daughter, Dick (Nedra), Dorothy (Mike), Glen; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.\n\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Hillside Ward, 495 E. 5600 So. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and from 12-12:45 p.m. at the church on Wednesday prior to services at the church. Interment Murray City Cemetery.\n\nThe family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.
