“Loved His Family”Donal Burton Lowe, Jr. left this life on Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 at Alta View Hospital due to complications following surgery.Don was born in Logan, Utah on October 23, 1944 to Donal Burton Lowe and Claire Peterson Lowe Medford Swainston. Sealed to Sandra Dee Kidd for time and all eternity in the Oakland, California LDS Temple on September 4, 1968. Attended Roseburg High School in Roseburg, Oregon. He served an LDS mission in New Zealand from 1965 to 1967. Graduated from Brigham Young University, where he attended on a full-ride athletic scholarship and competed on the tennis team. He is survived by his loving wife and four children: Jason Mardee Lowe, Nicalee Lowe Watkins (Dustin), Debra Lowe Stillman (Tyler), and Kristine Lowe Watterson (Robert); brother William P. Medford (Kathy) of Salem, Oregon; and 17 grandchildren. Our family wants to thank the physicians and personnel at Alta View Hospital for their courageous efforts in Don’s behalf. His life was defined by his tender love for the Savior. He was a devoted companion and the dedicated caretaker of this family. We will miss him every day until the day we put our arms around him again.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray South LDS Stake Center on 5735 South Fashion Boulevard in Murray, with a viewing between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. An additional viewing will be held Sunday March 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street in Murray. Interment to be held immediately following the funeral at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.) in Salt Lake City.
