Donna Kay Lofgreen West, 63, passed away March 12, 2022 in Bountiful, UT. Donna was born January 31, 1959 to Kenneth and Mildred Lofgreen in Chicago, Illinois. Donna married David West in 1977. Together, they raised six children: Danny (Fernanda), Dustin (Julianna), Derek, Kevin (Natalie), Kasey (Danielle), and Kaley (Andy).\n\nDonna loved the years she worked in the Counseling Office at Murray High School and would speak fondly of the students and her coworkers. She finished her career working at her sister Dana’s, law firm. When working on a project, Donna readily admitted to moving at a slower pace, but she didn’t stop until it was done correctly.\n\nThe lasting joy of Donna’s life was her relationships. There are many coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family members that benefited from her poignant observations and advice. When it came to her children, she celebrated their successes and taught them to love unconditionally. It was a sight to behold to watch her masterfully construct connections with her grandchildren: Tyra, Zack, Valentina, Fernando, Sebastian, Maisie, Ainsley, Shaylee, Lyla, Ava, Lydia, Graycen, and Jake. She actively strived to build her own heaven on Earth.\n\nDonna spent the final months of her life battling Leukemia. She was surrounded by her children and siblings as she passed away. While the nurses and doctors believed her hospice care would last 24 - 48 hours, Donna extended it a few days to remind us all how much she hated being told what to do. \n\nA special thank you to the Bone & Marrow Transplant team at LDS Hospital and IHC Hospice. Donna is survived by her children, grandchildren, mother, and siblings: David (Marla), Diane (Dean), and Dana (Doug). She is preceded in death by her father and granddaughter, Shaylee West.\n\nA closed casket visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022, 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Murray Parkway Stake Center, 619 West 5750 South, Murray, with a closed casket visitation prior from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
