“A Friend To All”Our beautiful Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Neighbor and Friend passed away quietly with her sister and loved ones by her side in her home at 90 years young!Doris was a talented interior decorator to all who were lucky enough to experience her. She married her sweetheart Alfred Bennion August 12, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple She was a "hoot", the most fun ever and full of laughter. Her homemade enchiladas were world famous, she made a beautiful home so full of love, her rose garden and dried flower arrangements amazed all. The animals she cared for, rescued, and loved—especially “Babe” were her heart. She was known for her beauty, her Cherokee Heritage, coaching softball, watching all of her grandchildren ice skate, play soccer, football, baseball and dance will be missed by all. “Oh Kid” we were all so blessed to have been part of her life—the love we learned and received will live on for generations.Doris is survived by her children, Dr. Richard E. Kunz (Kate), Jamie Kunz Lavenstein (Les), Kelly R. Kunz (Diane); sister, Carol Self Lucas, sister-in-law, Lorraine Self; from Alfred’s family: Sharon Garrison (Art), Charlene Brunstad (Paul), Janet Metcalf (Doug), Alfred R. Bennion (Jenifer). Grandchildren 9/27, Great grandchildren 8/17.Preceded in death by:her beloved husband,Alfred H. Bennion,Tec 4 Sargeant,WWII and celebrated over 340 monthly wedding anniversaries! parents; brother Ralph L. Self; grandson, Tyler Ogden Kunz; grandbaby, Amanda Brunstad; great grandbaby, Eden Dowdle.\nThe family expresses their gratitude and thanks to Alpine Hospice, especially to Janine Goldhart and Edith Cajavilca.Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the LDS Ward located at 601 E. Mansfield Ave. (3117 South). A viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, and also at the church Thursday prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Holladay Memorial Park located at 4900 S. Memory Lane.
