Doris Townsend Bills

Our beloved Grandma, Doris Bills, passed away on Tuesday, Oct 16. Doris was born May 4, 1923 in Murray, UT to Arthur and Amanda Townsend. She grew up in Murray, graduated from Murray High School and later completed Beauty College. Doris married Bryant Lee Bills and they had 2 children, JoAnn Bills (Mark) and Bryant Bills.

Doris loved to make women look and feel beautiful, She owned and operated JoLee Beauty Shop for over 60 years, making her one of the first women business owners in Murray City.

Doris was an example of strength to all of those around her. Her grace, faith and love for the Savior helped her endure many trials in life.

Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Serving in many callings, her favorite being Stake Librarian. Doris lived her life in a way others admired; never complaining, and always worrying about others more than herself.

Doris loved to garden, read, dance, go to lunch and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed- and has left a void that can't be filled.
We know our Grandmas love and legacy will live on.

Doris is survived by her son in law John Mark, her 4 grandchildren, Gina Johnson, John Bryant Mark, Allison Bonnet, Zachary Mark, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers (Max Townsend, Rex Townsend), her husband Bryant, and her children JoAnn and Bryant.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 26, 2012 at 12 Noon at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, with a viewing for family and friends from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
