Doris was born on September 25, 1934 in Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona to Arlie and Mabel Despain. She moved around several times while she was young, graduating from Provo High School in 1952.
She met and married Dell B. Ford on August 24, 1952, later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on March 20, 2004.
Her and Dad traveled around for Dad’s job, then settled in Lindon, Utah, where they raised 3 sons and a daughter.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed working part-time as a waitress. She worked at the Lindon City Offices and loved being a Teacher’s Aide.
Mom was always active in the Church serving as Relief Society President and enjoyed being the Ward Activities Director and other callings.
Mom loved to sing, singing at many funerals and other occasions. She also loved to do temple work, especially extractions.
When Dad retired, they sold the farm, and split their time between Henderson, Nevada and Wallsburg, where they made happy memories with friends and family. They settled in St. George when Dad’s health started to decline. She was a loving caregiver until Dad’s passing in August 2007.
