Douglas Lynn Andrews

Douglas (Doug) Andrews, 57, passed away suddenly on July 21, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 14, 1957. Doug was the second child of Veloy Merrill Andrews and Dorothy Rae Coleman.

He attended Western Hills Elementary, Kearns Jr. High and Bingham High School. Doug played Little League Baseball in his youth and was a talented player. In his adult years, he enjoyed playing golf, watching movies and eating mashed potatoes and gravy.

Doug later met his sweetheart, Kathy Nguyen, and they spent many happy years together.

Doug is survived by his partner, Kathy Nguyen, his mother, Dorothy Carlson, his siblings, Duane Andrews and Cheryl Andrews, and a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Veloy Andrews and his brother, Michael Andrews.

The family expresses their appreciation to the caregivers at St. Mark's Hospital and Woodland Park Rehabilitation and Care Center for the care given to Doug in his final months.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Doug's life at a Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah.
