“Skipper”\nEarl L. Borg passed away June 16, 2008 in Salt Lake City. Born Sept. 28, 1928 in Murray, Utah to Earl Louis and Arvilla Park Borg. Married Ruth Ann VanLill on Jan. 10, 1951 in Elko, Nevada; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away Oct. 8, 1995. \nEarl worked as a salesman for A.W. Marshall Co. for many years and then worked with his family at Schmidt’s Pastry Cottage. \nHe was a wonderful friend, father and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. \nEarl is survived by his son, Steve (Lucy) Borg; daughter, Debbie (Mark) Stratton; grandchildren, Jamie, April, Brett, Kristi, Stephanie, Megan and Tyson; and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Miller. \nThe family wishes to thank IHC Hospice for their care and compassion—especially to Ken, Sunny and Mike. \nFuneral services will be Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends and family may call Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
