Edda Rae Timmerman

–

Bellbrook, OH

1938 ~ 2016
Edda Rae Timmerman (Johnson) quietly passed away from natural causes surrounded by family on June 4, 2016. Edda is fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was born on February 23, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Francis and Baine Johnson. She married her sweetheart, Carl "Bud" A. Timmerman Sr., on July 6, 1956. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 16, 1979.
During her life Edda had a passion for public service, worked for the State of Utah as a social worker, and served on the Kearns Town Council. Edda was also a talented painter who loved to create beautiful landscapes of some of her favorite outdoor areas in Utah, particularly the National Parks. Many of these paintings she entered in various fairs and gave away to friends. She also was an avid camper who taught her grandchildren to appreciate nature. She and her husband retired to Washington, Utah where they were involved with church and senior citizen activities.
Edda was preceded in death by her son, Carl Jr. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Elizabeth (Russell) Kofoed; her daughter in-law, Tammy Timmerman; her six grandchildren: Kimberly, Sean, Michael, Brent, Diane and Andrea; and her three great-grandchildren.
The family expresses their gratitude to Hospice of Dayton and the staff of St. Leonard's Care Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the LDS Church General Missionary Fund.
Graveside services will be Friday June 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue "N" Street. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street.
