Edna Beth Simmons Vance Obituary (1940 - 2015)

Beth Simmons Vance was born on September 15, 1940 to Willis A. and Edna Blaney Simmons. Beth passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. She preferred the name Beth and was known simply by that throughout her life, preserving the name Edna for her beloved mother. Beth married her high school sweetheart and best friend Richard L. Vance on October 13, 1958 and they remained loving companions for 56 plus years. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Kelly Rae, Shauna Lee and Suzanne, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Beth's most precious memories were those of the family boating trips and vacations to Hawaii, and in the earlier years the annual camping trips to Jackson and Colter Bay, Wyoming with extended family. Most of all, she enjoyed their annual Christmas Eve Parties. They owned several different homes during their lives and she took great joy and pride in decorating and caring for each of them. Beth is survived by her husband Richard, daughters Suzanne Vance and Shauna (Ben) Blue, her grandchildren, Dustin, Richard, Jon Preston, Lindsey and Ashley and her great grandchildren, Drake, Mylee, Layla and Rhyan. Also survived by her sisters and best friends, Dorene Jennings, Connie Peterson and Lexie Anderson and her brother Willis. Preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kelly Vance Hocking. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday July 1st at 6:00 p.m., Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So). Friends and Family can visit prior from 4:30-6:00 pm.
