South Jordan, Utah
Edward Allen Anderson, age 73, passed away on March 8, 2026, joining his beloved wife. He was born on March 27, 1952, to Blanche and Elden Anderson. His mother traveled to Delta, Utah, to give birth to him.
Ed spent his first two years in Big Piney, Wyoming, before his family moved to Idaho for a few years. When he was three, the family settled in Garden City, Kansas, where he was raised alongside his three brothers.
As a young boy, Ed participated in Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America, proudly earning his Eagle Scout. During high school, he played flag football and soccer and competed in the high jump. He also worked alongside his father in the family farming business.
After graduating high school, Ed attended community college for a year while preparing to serve a mission. At age 19, he began his two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lima, Peru. When he returned he attended BYU where he recieved his bachelor's degree in finance and decided that if you’re not rooting for BYU… who are you really?! He was a die hard fan and never missed a football game.
He then decided to stay in Utah while he worked and traveled looking for his sweetheart. Finally in 1983 (10 years later) he met the love of his life Leesa, and after a short time he proposed in the car on the way to Carl’s Jr (mom never let him live this down) and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple in November of the same year.
When he married her, he also embraced her two young children, later adopting them as his own. Together they built their forever home in South Jordan, where they lived for 41 years and formed lasting friendships within their ward family. A few years later, in 1986, their daughter was born, completing their family.
Ed had a love for the gospel like no other and a love for everyone around him. He was a baby and dog whisperer. After the passing of his sweetheart, he submersed himself in service. He donated his time to teach refugees English at the Columbus Education center. Even in his final days it wasn’t uncommon to find him serving by indexing at his computer and later from his laptop in bed. He was always offering a helping hand even when it became painful to do so and set an example for everyone around him.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father and his beloved wife Leesa. He is survived by his 3 children Taralee (Steve), Adam and Normandie (Andrew), and his 8 grandchildren, Dalton, Devvin (Emily), Kaia, Kypris, Conner, Kaysha, Benny and Kaisley and his 3 brothers John (Denise), David (Susan) and Paul (Tammy).
