“Eddy”Edward Lee Barnette, Jr. died December 4, 2009 as a result of long-term complications from a crash August 12, 2004.Born July 23, 1955 in Baker, OR to Edward L. Barnette, Sr. and Helen Gover Barnette. Attended public schools in Oregon and trade school in Denver, CO. He worked for Viking Freight Systems (which later became FedEx Freight) from 1982-2004, working his way up to Operations Manager. He was an effective, proficient and committed manager, making those around him look good. He was previously married to Darlene Wells, divorced. Married Connie, divorced. Married Lynn Williams, July 4, 1993 after he moved to SLC, UT.Lynn was a faithful and devoted companion, seeing to his every want and need.Thank you to the director, Mark Dunn; Special Angels: Cheryl Burton, staff and nurses at South Davis Community Hospital for your excellent care of Ed (and Lynn). Thank you for loving him.Ed was super private, an extremely hard worker, determined, strong minded. When he took time out, he loved BBQing, golf, watching birds and smelling the flowers in our gardens. He loved his family, wife, cats and dogs. Thanks to God that he is finally free of pain and his crippled body.Survived by his wife, Lynn; Lynn’s daughters: Gayle Nabrotzky Butler (Jim) and Angie Nabrotzky Lassig (Roger); Ed’s children: Jill Marie Diamond, Jake W. Barnette, and Sean Z. Barnette; Wyoming family including his parents, his brothers: Mike (Deanna) Barnette, Bob (Terry) Barnette; sister: Margie (Jeff) Ketterling; grandmother, Marguerite Gover of Oregon; nieces, nephews and extended family.Ed requested cremation and did not want a service. Ed’s ashes will be distributed as he wished.
