Elaine Oborn Green Rutherford

Elaine Rutherford, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, 2008. Born on February 9, 1918 in Sandy, Utah to Frank Oborn and Phebe Grace Bringhurst, she grew up there and attended Jordan High School. She married John Alma Green on September 29, 1938; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 25 years and had two children. She later married Verl Lee Rutherford, who died after 10 happy years of marriage.

She loved working in the Primary and made life-long friends there. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing cards.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her generosity, and her love of family.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Wendell, Rulon, Newel and her beloved sister, Zola Oborn Guest.

She will be missed by her children, John Stanley Green (Mary) and Claudia Remington (J Garth), and by her 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fox Pointe Ward house, 1465 W. 8440 S., West Jordan. Friends and family may attend the viewing Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Interment: Murray City. Cemetery.
