Eldon Thomas Smith 1932-2013 Our beloved friend and father Eldon Thomas Smith was born March 21, 1932 to Steven William Smith and Ruth Amanda Stephens in Salt Lake City, Utah. Died on his 81st birthday 21 March 2013. Married Myrna Weed 23 February 1951 in Salt Lake Temple. Myrna died 27 May 2004. He married Connie Kresser Ruben 22 January 2005. Eldon's profession was as a machinist. He was General Manager of State Brass Machine. He started Bonneville Machine and was owner and president in 1971. Eldon loved the outdoors especially riding his horse in the mountains. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and ATVing. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in 2 bishoprics. Especially loved working with the youth. Survived by his wife, Connie; children, Christine Green, Gregory Smith and Sterling Smith; brother, Owen Smith (St. George); sister, Connie Cowley (Florida). He was adored and will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren, 29 Step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 12 noon at Murray Little Cottonwood Stake Center, 6180 South Glenoaks Street, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 24 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S) South Jordan, Utah and 10:00 – 11:30 am Monday at the Stake Center prior to services.
