Eli Eugene Gourdin Obituary (1931 - 2019)

Born October 14, 1931 in Hiawatha, UT to Thomas Sylvester Gourdin and Vesta Diana Thomas, died October 23, 2019 at home from natural causes with his wife and son by his side. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia; their son, Tommy; his first wife of 28 years Joann; their children, Anna, Laurie, Carla, Willey and Nancy; several grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Bob, Jerry and Joann. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Jody and Tom; and grandchildren, Jeremiah, Danny, Alicia, and Norman. Eli loved the game of golf where he spent much of his free time on various courses in many locations and ultimately met his soul mate. He loved lots of sports and anything outdoors, he took a special pride in making sure his yard was always in pristine condition. At a young age he was a partner in Tour West where he guided many river rafting tours and loved to talk about all the new people he met along the way. He also worked for years as a salesman in various companies: McKesson Robbins, Keith Jorgensen’s and Morgan Jewelers. His gift of a silver tongue paid off and you knew it from all people he called friends he met along the way. His family holds sweet memories of him, golfing, dressing up as Santa Claus for family gatherings, standing on the side lines at ball games, cracking jokes and his contagious smile. If you took the time to know him, you’ve never known a love like his—genuine, kind, generous, forgiving, supportive, sincere and so humble. No Services will be held.
