Elizabeth Ann VonNiederhausern Jackson Hunter passed away peacefully at age 74 on February 9, 2022 in Murray, Utah, surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth was born April 19, 1947 in Logan, Utah to Alma and Cornelia DeWaal Von Niederhäusern. She was the 8th of 13 children.
She was a spunky, active child earning her the nickname “Buob”, which is Swiss for boy, by her immigrant grandmother. Her siblings then added to it, calling her “Buobly”. She kept that same spunk (and nickname) throughout her life.
Elizabeth had a competitive nature and loved playing card and board games with her family. Her favorite was Scrabble. When someone else managed to beat her at Scrabble, they would hang the score sheet on the fridge for all to see. She loved the outdoors, spending many summers as a child and adult camping in the Logan canyon.
Elizabeth was a dedicated mother. Her children were the center of her life. She loved the many loud, crowded family get-togethers. She was an excellent caregiver to her daughter, Aundrea, who had many complicated medical issues.
Elizabeth was active with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as primary teacher, nursery leader and the stake librarian for many years.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Keith Hunter, and 5 of her children: Gina Meek, Benjamin Meek, Ruth Ann Shaw (Scott), Diane Gayler (Matthew) and Rachel Tollestrup (Derek), as well as 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild with another on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Aundrea Michelle Jackson, her parents and 6 of her siblings.
Matthew 25:21 “His Lord said unto him, well done, thous good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few thing, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
