Ellen was born November 15, 1938 in Hyrum, Utah to Conrad and Ethel McBride Hancey. She married Glen C. Smith on March 11, 1960 in Twin Falls, Idaho. They then moved to Utah in 1963 and have resided in Riverton for 38 years.\nEllen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Phylis Lewis and brother, Lynn H. Hancey. She is survived by her loving husband, Glen, her sons; Scott C. Smith, Murray, UT, Tsgt Michael G. Smith, USAF and wife, Nancy, grandchildren; Preston, Bryson, Mary BriAnne and Mikayla,. Currently stationed at Holloman, AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico. Michael is currently deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. She is also survived by her siblings; Collene Frear, Lois (Gary) Jorgensen and Boyd (Donna) Hancey.\nEllen worked for 20+ years in Retail Sales / Management in SLC. She loved being around her family and friends and loved to visit with everyone. She also loved camping, boating and spending time in her yard. And of course, there was always a cat nearby. She was always thinking of others and will be missed by her family and friends.\nFuneral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), where friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2007 and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
