“Crocheting Again”\nElna McReynolds Birch (Grandma Holly), 79, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008 in the home of her loving family, under the guidance of Care Source Hospice.\nShe was born on July 21, 1929 in Manila, Utah, and then relocated to Murray, Utah when she was sixteen with her parents, the late Redilla and Rulon Blake Anson. She married Sterling McReynolds at the age of sixteen and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Frank Birch in 1979.\nMom loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She proudly crocheted items to give to her family on birthdays and special occasions. In her early life, she held many church positions with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to dance. She cared deeply for her dogs and will be missed by Buffy Jo. She collected American Indian memorabilia and proudly decorated her home with her heritage.\nShe is survived by her husband, Frank Birch; children, Ed McReynolds (Jeanette), Blaketta (Blakie) Allen (Ashley), Cindy McReynolds (Lee), Jodi Dipo (Don). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren with two more on the way, and her siblings, Wilma Stocking and Kathleen Greenburg (Bob).\nShe is preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Edward McReynolds; son, Gordon D. McReynolds; great-grandson, Roscoe Ashley Allen III; siblings, Gilda Bartlett, Eric Anson, Lenore Gatherum; and her beloved Holly Dog.\nA special thank you to Danville Support Services and Care Source—especially Rachel, Kim, and Jody.\nFuneral services will be Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville Stake Center, 4800 South 1400 West, Taylorsville, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and Friday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center.\nInterment will be in the West Jordan City Cemetery, West Jordan, Utah.\nLoved and missed by family.
