Esther Levorsen, native of Salt Lake City, Utah and longtime resident of Murray, one of 12 children born to Peter and Therese Johansen, wife of Paul Levorsen , mother of four children, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in Sandy, Utah at age 98.\n\nEsther was a graduate of Murray High School and attended art classes at the University of Utah. She had natural artistic abilities and was a great artist in pencil & pen drawings, painted admirable landscape and portrait paintings, carvings and sculptures.\n\nShe was supportive of her husband and children in their educational pursuits. She also had a kind friendliness and optimistic attitude about her in social situations. She was the life of the party. She always had a smile. \n\nEsther also served in literary, theatrical, artistic, and other service callings in her local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings and her husband, Paul.\n\nSurvived by 2 siblings, Gloria (Don) Jones and B. Victor Johansen, and her own children, Dean (Glenna), Judith, Joe (Kay), Allan, 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.\n\nA viewing will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10:00 – 10:45 am at the Murray Parkway Stake Center, 619 West 5750 South in Murray, Utah. The funeral service will follow starting at 11 am.\n\nInterment is at the Murray City Cemetery.
