“Til We Meet Again”\nLucille Beckett Richins passed away peacefully April 23, 2009 in Salt Lake City. Lucille was born of goodly parents, Loren Phillip Beckett and Lettie Mae Dick Beckett on Jan. 18, 1920, near Shawnee Mound, Missouri. Lucille spent most of her childhood and early adult years in Independence, Missouri. Lucille married Lowell Oscar Richins March 20, 1938 in Independence, Missouri—a marriage that was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 32 years until Lowell’s death in 1970. \nLucille was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She had great musical talent which was utilized in much of her service in the church. She served for 18 months in the Rochester, New York Mission in 1976-1977. \nLucille is survived by four children: L. Phillip Richins (Linda), Rebecca A. McLatchy (Mike), Thomas K. Richins (Jan) and Cynthia L. France (Paul); and two sisters: Jean Pope and Julia Clear. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. \nFuneral services will be held Thursday, April 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake 14th Ward, 142 West 200 North. Friends and family may visit Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street and at the church Thursday morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. \nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to any of the LDS Church’s charitable funds or to a charity of choice.
