Our loving Dad, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather left us on January 2, 2012 to be with his sweetheart. He was born June 27, 1925 to John Henry & Bertha Hunick. He was surrounded by his family in his passing. \n\nEugene attended Jordan High School and was a Naval Veteran in WWII. He served his tour on the SS Salt Lake City and the SS Potter. He married his sweetheart, Shirley, on November 23, 1948 in Elko, NV; later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. He loved being with his family. He also enjoyed hunting & fishing. They did a lot of traveling & spent a lot of time with their best friends, the Pederson’s. He loved spending time with his daughter, Lori and her family, in Arizona sitting in the sun with his puppy, Midgie!\n\nSurvived by children, Kathy #1 (Doug) Martinez, Craig (Kathy #2) Hunick, Diann (Verl) Duncan, Lori (Ernie) Fresquez; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Oscar Hunick. Preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Louie and Ernie; sister, Hazel; and grandson, Nathan.\n\nA special thank you is expressed to Ted Cardwell, Margret Summerhayes, and the Davis Family.
