Eunice Violet Davidson Walker

–

Murray, UT

1930 ~ 2013

With her husband at her side, our beloved wife and mother, Eunice Violet Davidson Walker was reunited with her parents and older brother on 17 September 2013 after a remarkable life that spanned 83 years.

Born 22 September 1930 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to James Sanderson McCrackett Davidson and Violet Rosalind Bond Davidson, she grew up in Montreal near the Lachine Rapids of the St. Lawrence River. At age 17 she joined the LDS Church. In 1956 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she studied English at the University of Utah. Following graduation she moved to Los Angeles, California where she earned her secondary teaching license at the University of Southern California. She taught English in high school in the Los Angeles School District. While in California she met and married LeRoy Harold Walker on 27 June 1963 in the Los Angeles Temple. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in June. One child was born in Los Angeles before the family moved to Provo in 1968. Five years and two children later the family moved to Murray, Utah where she resided for the past 39 years. She often said that her greatest accomplishment was her three children. Eunice spent many years working as a primary teacher. Her most recent calling was that of Ward Librarian, which she enjoyed immensely. She also spent numerous years working in the Cub Scout organization, where she was recognized with the Silver Beaver award in 1995. She also volunteered helping with literacy in the elementary schools both while her children were in school and after. More recently she served on the Intermountain Medical Center Scholarship Committee. In 1978 she began working part time for SW Energy and worked until March of this year. She was known for her encyclopedic knowledge, her love of language, and English literature.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and her older brother Jim. She is survived by her husband; her three children and their spouses: James and Debbie Walker, Anne and Brant Thomsen, and Adrianne and Kevin Jenkins; six grandchildren: Heather, April, Alexander, and Nathan Thomsen, Brynn and Tess Walker; her brother Ian Davidson and her sister Betty Keller.
