Faye Louise Thompson Richardson passed peacefully away May 11, 2007 after 81 years. Experiencing many physical challenges; a medical accident (many years ago), diabetes, Asian flu, German Measles, Caesarean section and multiple broken bones.
She was born April 22, 1926 to Harvey “J” and Emma Stocker Thompson in Paris, Idaho, and spent her grade school years there and in Preston Idaho. When she was 13 her parents moved to the family to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she met and made a lifetime friendship with “Kenny” Richardson who was in the band with her, in the same church and in the same 3-act plays. They both loved the out-of-doors and sports. They both enlisted during WWII- she in the Cadet Nurses Program and he in the Navy
Air Force Program. Yes—they were married and lived happily together for 62 years. After she became an RN, she worked as head nurse at Budge Memorial Hospital in Logan, Utah for a couple years. Her next RN position was at the Tooele Utah Clinic and Hospital. From there she nursed at the Tooele Army Depot; Dugway Utah Hospital, Hercules Chemical Depot and Kennecott Copper. She and her husband bought Edna’s Floral in Tooele, changed its name to Tooele Floral and stayed in business for about 5 years, with help from their children while she was still employed as an RN. She was always active in the LDS church for the first 60 years of her life: Primary teacher, Young Women’s President, Relief Society President under 3 bishops and gospel doctrine teacher.
She is preceded in death by both parents, two of her three brothers; daughter, Laurel Lee, and son-in-law, Gerald Macdonald.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth; brother, Laurel (Ramona) Thompson, Mount Vernon, Washington, sons; Kevin (Susan) Richardson, Kim (Becky) Richardson, Karlan (Valerie) Richardson; daughter; Taunna (Doug) Vance; 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
