Loa Ferguson Booth Obituary (1914 - 2009)

Loa Ferguson Booth, age 95, passed away February 17, 2009 at her home in Murray, Utah, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on January 26, 1914 in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Christopher Armstrong and Harriet Chisholm Ferguson. Loa spent her first 24 years in Utah County until she married Steve Booth when they relocated to Salt Lake City. Loa worked as head telephone operator in Spanish Fork and Midvale for many years, as well as the Arms Plant during the war. She and her sister, Winona, operated Steve’s service station for three years while he served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. Loa loved family gatherings, neighborhood chats, the Utah Jazz and the Atlanta Braves. Her brownie cake was the best! She was a wonderful wife, the world’s best mom and a devoted friend. Her compassion for others was extraordinary! She will be truly missed. Loa is survived by her daughter, Sidney, of Murray, sister-in-law Della Ferguson of Provo, numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. Although she had only one biological child, Loa was a second mother and grandmother to many. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve, and eight brothers and sisters. Loa was a member of the LDS Church. As per Loa’s request, graveside services will be held Saturday, February 21st at 1 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 East, 400 South, Spanish Fork, Utah, under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
