Fern left this world on Friday, October 22, 2021 to be with her husband and her daughter Nancy, who had gone before. Fern had been waiting for her “invitation”.\n\nFern was born in Provo, Utah on July 3, 1930, at the home of her grandparents. Her grandmother who was a Midwife assisted with her birth. She was the oldest of nine children born to H. LeRoy and Edna Reynolds Gammon.\n\nShe lived on two dairy farms owned by her parents in Vineyard and Lehi, Utah. Fern attended grade school in Vineyard and finished her education in Lehi. She learned the value of hard work from her parents. \nFern married Allen Nielsen on December 10, 1947. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nAfter 7 years of anxiously waiting, they were blessed with their first child Alene, and four years later, with Nancy. Their girls were a blessing in their lives.\n\nFern is survived by her daughter Alene (Mike) Sena, 3 grandchildren Michael (Leslee), Steven (Jackie), Ashlie (Marc), great-grandchildren Carissa, Trenten, Cortnie, Brooklyn, Spencer, Bentley, Joseph, Meggie, Hunter, Elle and Kyle, along with her sweet sisters and many nieces and nephews.\n\nA viewing will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah. At Fern’s request, a family only service will be held.
