Florence Headlund-Hayes Obituary (1916 - 2006)

“Grandma Peanut” Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Florence Headlund-Hayes returned home to her Heavenly Father and loved ones ready to greet her on July 22, 2006. She was born on October 5, 1916 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Melissa Miller. She was a member of the LDS church and served in many positions throughout her life. In addition, she was a life long member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and the gospel. Mother lived her life to the fullest. She had a great love for music and had the unique talent to play the piano by ear. Singing filled her heart with joy and was a passion of hers. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors including gardening, camping, boating and fishing. The last four years of her life were spent at Life Care Bountiful where she was crowned Miss Golden Years of Utah 2003. The family wishes to thank the staff for their loving care. The greatest achievement and love of her life was her family. Mother was proud of the legacy she created and she is survived by her four children; Gary B. Headlund, Carleen (Rod) Walker, John G. (Collette) Hayes, and Tondra (Richard) Collings; her grandchildren; Trek Headlund, Kari (Larry) Clow, Chandra Headlund, Melissa (Drew) Jackson, Becca (Ryan) Christensen, John Hayes, Brandon Hayes, Elizabeth Hayes, Jeffrey (Gayle) Collings, Christopher Collings, and Amy Collings; her great-grandchildren; Dylan, Kayla, Nathan, Danielle, Gavin, Ayden, Bentley, Kayle, Anthony, Kaoru and Alex. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 26th, from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27th, 11 a.m. at Haven-Kimball Ward, 2280 South 300 East, South Salt Lake, where friends may call 1 hr. prior to services. Interment to be in the Murray City Cemetery. We will be loving you “ALWAYS”
