Florence "Hattie" Duncan Shelley

“Hattie”Florence Hattie Duncan Shelley passed away November 8, 2011. She was born January 18, 1911 in Centerville, Utah to Florence Hardy and Walter Duncan. Hattie married her sweetheart, William Robert Shelley, February 7, 1934 in the Salt Lake City Temple.Hattie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the church. She and dad served in the Salt Lake Temple and in the Jordan River Temple for 40 years. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She retired from the Murray School District after 35 years.She was accomplished in embroidery and other hand crafts, which she gave to her posterity.She is survived by children, Louise (Edward) Cooper, Robert (Marilyn) Shelley, Keith (Madeleine) Shelley; sister, Leone Stringam; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers; 1 great-grandchild; and brother-in-law.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 12th Ward, 363 E. Vine Street, with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
