On October 5, 2015, Fred passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after fighting a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Fred loved spending time with his "boys" (Bianco, Tuscany, and Tauca), his family and friends. Fred always had a joke to tell and stories to share. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors—fishing, golfing, camping, boating and duck hunting. Fred loved sitting out in his shop with his dogs, painting ceramics or cheating while playing UNO with his grandkids. If you knew Fred, you knew how much he loved his malts.
Fred was born November 18, 1940 to Fred "Feets" Tedesco and Klea Bullock Tedesco. Fred graduated from East High School in 1959. Fred and his father owned the Holliday Fun Spot for many years. Fred married Paulette Fassio on August 20, 1966. They had two wonderful children, Lisa and Brian, and four grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye. Fred spent 24 years with the South Salt Lake Police Department, where he retired in 1991 as a Captain. After a very short few months, Fred realized retirement was not for him. He spent the next 20 years with the US Marshall's Office court security at the Federal Building, and retired in 2011. Fred was a member of the Harrison Duck Club for 47 years. He sat on the Board of Directors at the Harrison for the past 10 years.
Fred leaves behind his wife, Paulette; daughter, Lisa (Tony); son, Brian (Jill); grandchildren, TJ, Shaylin, Andrew and Emily; his dog, Bianco; sister, Winkie (Dennis); and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred Tedesco, Sr.; mother, Kea Bullock Tedesco; stepmother, Rosie Tedesco; sister, Charlene; brother-in-law, Orin Hunter; and father-in-law, Chester Fassio.
The family wishes to thank Dad's close friends and family who helped take care of him the past few months, as well as Carmen, his sweet caregiver, his medical caregiver, Ashley, and Canyon's Hospice Heidi, Todd, Taylor and Anna.
