Freeda Bernice Gates Wilson Obituary (1930 - 2014)

Freeda Bernice Gates Wilson, 84, died peacefully on September 11, 2014. She was born in Gillette, Campbell County, Wyoming on April 26, 1930 to Clarence Leroy and Emelia Todd Gates. Freeda married Jack W. Wilson in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 1, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. He preceded her in death February 4, 1977. Freeda loved her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her children and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was loved and cherished by all of them. She worked at Utah Auto Parts, Wells Distributing, and the University of Utah, retiring in 2000. She was a Grand Past President of the Eagles and American Business Women's Association President several times. She helped raise money for young girl's college educations and for Seeing Eye dogs for the blind. She also loved her Red Hat association. Survived by her children, Marti Davis (Stan), Nancy Hardman, and Richard James (Roberta). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daphne (Sean), Stephanie (Todd), Lori (Bryan), Dean (Rochelle), Dylan (Carin), Lindsay, Haley, and Noah Jack, and her great grandchildren, Lauren, Sage, Jake, Taylor and Lily. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Urriola and her brother Tom Alter. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Wilson, sons, Jack Jr., and Thomas Charles, son-in-law, Randy Hardman, and granddaughter, Nancy Louise Hardman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Murray, Utah 84107, with viewings Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
