“Livin’ the Dream”The world is a little dimmer for a moment at the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Garrett Drew Smith born 24 February 1985, left this earth on Sunday, 27 March 2011, from injuries sustained while enjoying the wonders of God’s earth with many dear family and friends at his side.We were blessed to enjoy his zest for life, his intellect, talents, smile, faithful friendship, humor and continued sense of wonder, if but for a short season. He traveled worldwide for Hammers Inc Photography which he founded and enjoyed his time at Petzl America.He loved God’s world both spiritual and natural. He had a luminous smile and a passion for life that could not be matched. His love for all people and experiences will be missed. He is survived by his dear devoted wife and companion, Amalia Jane Barker Smith who was by his side at the time of the accident. Also, by his parents Douglas G. and Debbie Smith, brothers McKell (Beth), Aaron (Marissa), Alex (Deborah), sister Mckensie (Matt) Wilkinson, in-laws Bryce and Margy Barker and by many adoring nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He mentored many, and more than he knew, impacted all who crossed his path.He will be missed by many in the Spain Madrid LDS Mission. His family expresses gratitude to so many in the community who blessed his brief life, and offered their loving help and care.Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 April 2011, at the East Millcreek North Stake, 3103 East Craig Dr. (3450 South), at 11 AM. A viewing will be at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary Thursday, 31 March 2011 at 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, 6-8 PM, and at the East Millcreek North Stake from 9:30-10:45 AM prior to services on Friday.
