Garth Potts Obituary (1951 - 2022)

Garth Orson Potts, age 70, passed away July 8, 2022 after a battle with cancer. He was born on July 16, 1951 in Heber, Utah. Garth grew up in Upalco, Utah on his parent’s ranch. He worked hard alongside his Dad, who he had a great admiration for. He went to Altamont High School, where he graduated with a full four-year scholarship to Weber State University. Garth served an LDS Mission in England, and then on May 4, 1973 married his beautiful wife Raelynn in the Provo Temple. They were married for 39 years, up to the time of her death. Then he met his second love, Tammy, and they shared many adventures together up until the time of his death. Garth always said he had to do what it took to earn his “Man Card”. He was a hard-working man who never went anywhere without a knife. He loved to work with his hands, building things, and doing remodeling. He loved football (Go Broncos), traveling, riding his Harley with his friend Carlos, or just working around the yard. He was always busy doing and creating something. Garth loved spending time with his family and friends. Garth is survived by his daughters, Mechelle (Aaron) Kirkendoll and Laura Brown; grandchildren: Tony, Nathan, Finn, and Raf; and his partner, Tammy Hart. He is preceded in death by his wife, Raelynn Potts. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the family plot in Altamont, Utah.
