Gary J Garcia, 59 passed away January 3, 2010. He was born November 22nd 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to J Don and Nona Garcia. He married LaNoma (Lannie) Cox July 9th, 1971. They were sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake Temple on August 29th 1975.\n\nThe light and meaning of his life was his family. Gary was always showering his princess, Lannie, with cards and gifts. Blessed by his love are his surviving three children, Cresta DeGooyer (Dee), Gregory J Garcia (Brooke), and Jodi Jessop (Tyler). He loved the Lord with all of his might, mind, and soul. He served faithfully in various church callings. Gary spent 31 years in the Jordan School District as a teacher, coach, mentor, friend, and administrator. Next to his family, he loved his school kids, and colleagues best. Gary loved golfing, gardening, football, and baseball. He adored his grandchildren; Wyatt, Morgan, Olivia, Christian, Alex, Nick, Caleb, Maddie, Devin, and Coleman. Spending time with and supporting his grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. He will be truly missed by all those who loved him. His beloved grandson, Christian, preceded him in death.\n\nA viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, on Thursday January 7, 2010 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Friday January 8, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Murray North Stake, 5200 South 700 West, Murray. A viewing will be held prior to funeral services from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, please take your family out to a ball game (don’t forget the diet coke).
