Gary Lynn Gorringe triumphantly returned to his Heavenly Father on July 2, 2019 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Gary was born May 26, 1946 to Edward William Gorringe and Alice Ida Dahlberg. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School and served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West German Mission in Frankfurt. After his return, he married his sweetheart Margene Foster and was happily married to her for nearly 50 years.\r\n\r\nGary spent 44 years working in various positions at Engineering firms. He was capable of building anything including building and remodeling his home. He loved gardening and plants, at one point raising over 5000 orchids. He loved spending time with his family outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and activities on the water. There was nothing more important than his family. He loved playing games and making mischief with the grandkids. Gary and Margene loved to travel the world together. Late in life, he served a second mission with Margene in the Olongapo Philippines followed by a mission together at the Riverton Family History Center. \r\n\r\nGary is survived by his wife, Margene Foster, and his children; Alicia Brown (Mike), Glade Joseph Gorringe (Kari), Lynn Talmage Gorringe, Devin Foster Gorringe (Ariane), and Dustin Edward Gorringe (Cami), and brothers Randall William Gorringe, and Jan Robert Gorringe(Karen)as well as 20 amazing grandchildren who are very grateful to know that families are forever. He was preceded in death by his Father, Edward William Gorringe; mother, Alice Ida Dahlberg; step-mother, Maurene Craven; sister, Lois Kunkel (Raymond); and brother, Ronald Edward Gorringe (Joyce). A viewing will be held Sunday, July 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe South Valley located at 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10400 South), South Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be held the following morning, July 8th, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing preceding from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the South Jordan Country Park Stake Center located at 2447 W. 11400 S., South Jordan, UT. Interment will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery.
