Taylorsville, UT—George Phillips, age 83, passed away on December 17th, 2020. He was born on August 28th 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a young boy he enjoyed spending time with his family in the great outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was very fond of visiting Antelope Island. He was proud to serve our country and did his service in West Germany. While stationed there he met the love of his life, Lisa. George married Lisa in 1963. Together they resided in Taylorsville, UT. George worked for Kennecott Copper mine. He retired after 49 dutiful years.\r\n\r\nDuring his time off he loved to travel around the Western United States with Lisa. They visited many states and often spoke about his fondest memories of their travels. He loved a good meal with a good beer (in a brown bottle). Above all he loved talking to his family and friends.\r\n\r\nGeorge was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Anneliese Anton Phillips, and his parents George and Crystal Phillips. He is survived by many family, friends, and neighbors who cared deeply for him and that will miss him dearly.\r\nWe would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses, and the Harmony Hospice staff that helped during this difficult time. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 ~ 10:00 am at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.\r\n\r\nHe will be interred at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial park in Bluffdale.
