Georgina Eleanor (Lovett) Stone Obituary (1946 - 2016)

Georgina Eleanor (Lovett) Stone, one of the elect ladies of this earth, passed away peacefully at home with her husband John beside her. She will be missed by a great many as one whose life was spent loving and caring for others. Despite the illness that challenged her over the past thirteen years, she put her cares and pains aside to worry about and help those around her. At the end of her life, she was more concerned about the impact of her passing on those left behind than her own suffering. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Gina was born in the Western Canadian prairie city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada as the third child of Geoffrey and Marguerite Lovett. The formative years of her youth were spent in this city and on a farm in the great Canadian west. Throughout her life she loved the beauty of the outdoors and its wildlife. As a young girl she often rode her horse across the prairie and developed a lifelong love of these wonderful creatures. Until her illness prevented her, she trained horses, rode them, cared for them, nursed them when injured and when with them found a refuge from the cares of the world. Gina was equally at home in the opera house. Her parents kindled her love of music and they encouraged her to develop a talent for the piano and singing, which was a source of joy for those for whom she performed. She recorded two albums for her posterity to enjoy. A lover of all that was refining and beautiful, she surrounded herself with things that ennobled. After graduating from BYU, she taught school in Draper and met her husband John while he was attending BYU. The southern boy met the Canadian girl and they were married in the Cardston Temple in Canada on December 28, 1968. They were in the 48th year of their marriage when she passed away. Through the years they had six children who she loved with all her heart. They were treasures to her. She is survived by her husband John, daughters Holly (Jeremy) Stout, Katie (Donovan) Miller, Keri (Chris) Pullmer and Cheryl; sons Scott (Diane) and Jeremy (Kara), 11 grandchildren and her brother David Lovett (Nadia). Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Heatheridge Stake Center, 450 E 2000 N, Orem, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 21 at the same location from 5:30-7:30 pm and the day of the service from 9:45-10:45 am. Interment at Orem City Cemetery.
