Gerry McEwen Baker Nelson Goings Obituary (1936 - 2015)

1936 - 2015 Gerry was born in Salt Lake City June 2, 1936 to Benjamin Harrison and Viola Chapman McEwen. She returned to her loving Heavenly Father April 10, 2015 after a fierce battle with cancer. Gerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Gerry's greatest gift was her unconditional love that so many were the recipient of. Gerry had a passion for flowers which brought her much happiness. Gerry was blessed to be married to three wonderful men that each came in her life at the right time. She loved each of them deeply and they loved her. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Baker (1974), Keith Nelson (1996), both of her parents and her stepson Larry Nelson. Family was everything to Gerry. She is survived by her husband, Augustus (Gus) Goings, and her four children: Richard (Barbara), Mike (Jan), Wendy (Phillip), Bonnie (Sean), brothers David (Karen) and Art (Teri) McEwen and 7 step children. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren: Tiffanee, Becky, Andy, Jason, Rachel, Sara, Emily, Heidi, Justin, Schonie, Sheena, Whitney, Kelly and Shaylee. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses specifically Dr. Jon Wall, Dr. Greg Litton and Inspiration Hospice workers that gave great compassionate care for Mom. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Union Fort 7th Ward, 6770 South 500 East, Midvale, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, April 14th, from 6:00-8:00PM at Jenkins- Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Murray and from 9:30–10:30AM at the Church prior to the funeral.
