Born in Ramah, NM, on January 6, 1919 to Ida (Ashcroft) and Ruelon Thomas Gallagher. She married her sweetheart, Neil Purdie, on November 9, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple.\nGlenna attended Murray High School. Her favorite thing in life was time spent with her family. She had a great love for family history and genealogy. The example of her rich pioneer heritage was a source of inspiration and direction which were evident in her devotion to service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she taught or was in the presidency in all the women’s organizations. She served in the Alabama Birmingham Mission with her sweetheart from 1984-1985.\nOther hobbies that she and her husband enjoyed together were square dancing and their participation with the youth conferences.\nSurvived by children: David (Cathy), Tom, Susan (Gary) McDonald, Sally (Rod) Dean, Scott (Debbie), Heidi Lopez, and Cindy; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Leila Shaw, and brother, Stanley Gallagher.\nThe light in her eyes went out when her sweetheart, Neil, preceded her in death on May 5, 2004; also preceded in death by son, Reid; daughter-in-law, Jacqulyn Purdie; two grandchildren, Kristen Purdie and Rodney Dean Jr.; brothers Reno, Emer, and Oswald Gallagher.\nSpecial thanks to Mariana Gonzales for her tender loving care.\nFuneral services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood 18th Ward, 6410 So. 725 E. A viewing will be held Monday at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
