Gloria Reynolds

–

Salt Lake City, Utah

Gloria Rolapp Reynolds, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 23, 2026. Affectionately known as GG, she was cherished by her two children, 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Gloria was the daughter of Frederick Emil Rolapp and Stella Kincaid. Her father passed away when she was only five years old. Two weeks before her own passing, she told her daughter, “I have so few memories of my dad. I am anxious to go and get to know him.” She also looked forward to being reunited with her husband, Rulon, and prayed daily that she might return home.

Gloria graduated from Granite High School and earned a scholarship to the University of Utah but chose marriage instead. She and Rulon eloped in Elko, Nevada, on February 10, 1952. Rulon was serving in the National Guard in Clovis, New Mexico, and Gloria joined him there after their marriage. They later returned to Utah, where they raised their two children, Frederick Jay and Debra.

Gloria joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager. On February 10, 1972, their 20th wedding anniversary, she and Rulon were sealed with their children in the Salt Lake Temple. Gloria served in many Church callings, including as Primary president and Young Women’s president. One of her favorite opportunities to serve was as a missionary with Rulon at the Conference Center.

Gloria and Rulon were married for 61 years. They traveled around the world. Her favorite place remained Grand Teton National Park, which holds treasured memories for the entire family.

Being grandparents was one of Gloria and Rulon’s greatest joys. They took their grandchildren on trips to Hawaii, Sun Valley, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park. GG loved taking them shopping for their birthdays and Christmas, and Papa would join them afterward for dinner. Their home was also the setting for many sleepovers, and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren spent countless happy hours in the swimming pool. Gloria loved having them there.

After their children married, Gloria and Rulon built a beautiful home at Cove Point. Gloria lived there for 48 years, creating a home filled with family, memories, and love. She took pride in keeping it neat and tidy and decorating it beautifully.

Gloria will be remembered for the love she gave her family and for the special place she held in the hearts of all who knew her as GG.

Gloria is survived by her son, Rick (Andrea); her daughter, Debbie (Craig); and her 10 grandchildren: Jeremy Reynolds, Rachelle White (Dave), Nate Reynolds (Kim), Natalie Birkinshaw (Cody), Alyson Tanner (Brady), Garrett Breinholt (Sheena), Carly Hill (Andrew), Jordan Breinholt (Yui), Bonnie Breinholt, and Kaitlin Snover (Eli).

A funeral service will be held on November 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah 84095. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Gloria will be laid to rest with her husband at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah.

We as a family wish to thank all those who have reached out to support us during this time.
