Gordan Ray DeMill Obituary (1949 - 2011)

Gordan Ray DeMill passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on June 9, 2011. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 7, 1949. to Carl Gordon Arnoldus and Mada Beckstead. Later adopted then sealed to Carl and Mada DeMill on June 14, 1950. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Cobbley for 22 years. They had three children together. Later divorced. He shared his last 20 years with Shirley Angelastro. Gordan had a long and successful career in the steel fabrication industry, including ownership of his own business. He loved and took great pride in his work. He retired from the US Postal service after 10 years. Gordan was an avid golfer. He also loved being outdoors hunting, camping or fishing. He always loved a good road trip! Survived by his sweetheart, Shirley Angelastro. His three children: Scott (Katherine) DeMill, Kisty (Marty) White and Kim Miller. Grandsons: Scott DeMill Jr., Nick White, Gabe DeMill and Nash White. His mother, Mada DeMill. Siblings: Carla Palmer, Lynn (EvaJean) DeMill, LaDonna (Gary) Levitt and Merlin (Cindy) DeMill. Proceeded in death by his father, Carl DeMill. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, at 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.) Viewings will be held on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be held at the South Jordan Cemetery. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the Doctors, Nurses, Chaplin’s and Staff at Jordan Valley Hospital ICU for their great care and compassion.
