Graciela E. Leyva-Ojeda

Our hearts are now shattered and not just broken. Our cries have become inconsolable with the loss of our little sister. Graciela, the youngest of 4, raised and spoiled by her parents Agustin and Beatriz Leyva, she was born in Ventura California on September 5th 1991. Her childhood years of no worries were cut short when she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, regardless she never let that hold her back from enjoying different foods and learning new recipes, you would never walk walk out of her house with an empty stomach. She was the most patient person you would have the honor of meeting, her caring and understanding personality was what held our family together, she taught us to always look for the sunshine through the thunderstorm. Her physical limitations of being in a wheelchair never held her back, she always found a way to make things work with the cards she was dealt.

Graciela loved cooking, all things Disney and Hello Kitty, and cluttering up her kitchen while listening to Taylor Swift. We will remember her uncontrollable laughter, and huge heart-she made you feel special on your birthday or simply when you aced a test. We know she would want to be remembered as the strong and patient mother wife and sister that she was.

She leaves behind her 10 year old daughter Emma who was the light of her eye and motivation to fight each obstacle with a smile on her face. Emma will forever carry on her mothers example of strength, and bubbly personality. Graciela married the love of her life Floriberto Ojeda in June of 2020 she taught him to laugh, to see life in another way, and gave him the honor of becoming a dad. In late February, Covid would essentially catch up to her, a battle that she fought for weeks, but suddenly her heart did not have the strength to keep up, we were forced to say our goodbyes far too soon.

She leaves behind her husband Floriberto Ojeda and daughter Emma Leyva, sisters, Gabriela, Georgina and Cristina Leyva . Nephew Kaeden and Matteo, and Niece Marcella Leyva. But is greeted with open arms in heaven by her father Agustin Leyva.

Nuestros corazones ahora están destrozados y no solo rotos. Nuestros gritos se han vuelto inconsolables con la pérdida de nuestra hermana pequeña. Graciela, la más joven de 4, criada y consentida por sus padres Agustín y Beatriz Leyva, nació en Ventura Califonia el 5 de Septiembre de 1991. Sus años de infancia sin preocupaciones acabaron temprano cuando le diagnosticaron con diabetes juvenil, nunca dejo que eso la detubiera. Siempre disfruto diferentes comidas y aprendio nuevas recetas, nunca saldrias de su casa con el estómago vacío. Ella era la persona más paciente que tendrías el honor de conocer, su personalidad afectuosa y comprensiva fue lo que mantuvo unida a nuestra familia, nos enseñó a buscar siempre la luz del sol a través de la tormenta. Sus limitaciones físicas de estar en una silla de ruedas nunca la detuvieron, siempre encontraba la manera de hacer que las cosas funcionar.
A Graciela le encantaba todo lo de Disney y Hello Kitty, y cocinar,mientras escuchaba canciones de Taylor Swift. Recordaremos su risa incontrolable y su enorme corazón: te hizo sentir especial en tu cumpleaños o simplemente cuando superaste un examen. Sabemos que le gustaría que la recordaran como la madre, esposa y hermana fuerte y paciente que era.
Deja atrás a su hija Emma de 10 años, quien fue la luz de sus ojos y la motivación para luchar contra cada obstáculo con una sonrisa en su rostro. Emma siempre continuará con el ejemplo de fuerza y personalidad burbujeante de su madre. Graciela se casó con el amor de su vida Floriberto Ojeda en Junio de 2020 le enseñó a reír, a ver la vida de otra manera, y le dio el honor de ser papá. A fines de Febrero, Covid la alcanzo, una batalla en la que luchó durante semanas, pero de repente su corazón no tuvo la fuerza para seguir, nos vimos obligados a despedirnos demasiado pronto.
Deja atrás a su esposo Floriberto Ojeda y a su hija Emma Leyva, hermanas, Gabriela, Georgina y Cristina Leyva. Sobrinos Kaeden, Marcella y Matteo Leyva. Pero es recibida con brazos abiertos en el cielo por su padre Agustín Leyva.
