Grover Webb Snarr passed away on November 3, 2011. He was born December 7, 1913, to Grover Skelton Snarr and Cordelia Alathea Webb Snarr in Salt Lake City, Utah.\n\nHis early childhood was spent on the Snarr farm in Murray, Utah. He graduated from Murray High School and served an LDS Southern States Mission. In 1940 he married Muriel N. Betteridge in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family and lived in Murray, Utah. He attended the University of Utah where he obtained Bachelors and Masters Degrees focusing on education and math.\n\nHe taught school at Arlington and Liberty Elementary Schools in the Murray School District. He was Principal at Liberty and Grant Elementary Schools. He was active in the LDS church where he served in various church callings, including Bishop, High Councilor, Counselor in the Stake Presidency, and temple worker for many years at the Jordan River Temple.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, and their four sons, G. Keith (Karen) Snarr, Steven W. (Sharon) Snarr, Gordon W. (Cosette) Snarr, and Norman B. (Linda) Snarr, 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.\n\nFuneral services will be held at the Riverside Second Ward on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. located at 500 West Germania Avenue (5105 South). Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and at the church one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery.
