Gwen Ella Adams Forsyth Obituary (1937 - 2015)

Our wonderful "Mama" who was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. "Mama Gwen" was born December 28th, 1937 to Grover Charles and Nada Mae Adams in Savannah, Georgia. She was 1 of 8 children. She grew up in Jacksonville, FL and in 1958 she married Jackie Forsyth, her childhood sweetheart. There she began her life as a loving wife and mother of 12 children. She is the grandmama of 55 grandchildren and great grandmama of 29 (and counting) great grandchildren. Gwen loved life and enthusiastically shared that love with everyone she met. Even with a house full, everyone was always welcome and over the years, the Forsyth house was home to many. Gwen was smart, sassy, funny, and wonderful cook. She was always curious to learn and try new things. When she decided on a direction, she would never quit or give up. Most important, she was a real lady with real southern charm and hospitality. She was a great example to all of us on what it means to live life to the fullest. The Salt Lake Valley was her home for many years and she leaves behind many friends and acquaintances. She will be greatly missed. Gwen is survived by her brother, Gene Adams and sister, Glenda Davis. Her Children are Jack Forsyth, Jonathan Forsyth, Terrance Forsyth, Timothy Forsyth, Finis Robbins, Denise Thompson, Scarlett Salazar, Michelle McOmie, Bridgett Record. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Forsyth; her daughters, Julia and Gwen; and son, Lawrence Forsyth.
