Gwen Virginia Lauranna White Obituary (1944 - 2017)

Gwen Virginia Lauranna White was born October 29, 1944 in Lehi, Utah to Allen McArthur Frandsen and LaMonda Hansen. She was the 6th of 7 children. Gwen graduated from West High in 1961. She married Dennis LeGrande White on March 24, 1962. Together they had 9 kids: Denice DeCamp, Troy White, DeAnne Monchecourt, Dennis White Jr., LeGrande (Lee) White, Lauranna White, Adrien Bednarik, Allen White, and MacArron White. Dennis and Gwen were sealed in the Washington DC Temple. Gwen had a talent of making wedding cakes. She entered one of her cakes in the Utah State Fair and won a first place ribbon. She made each of her children their wedding cakes. On April 22, 1988, her son Troy received a severe head trauma due to a mining accident. During Troy's stay at the University of Utah Hospital, Gwen spent 8 months learning how to care for him. Her last 30 years, she cared for him and taught her children and grandchildren to care for him as well. She had her first battle with breast cancer in 1996. It returned 3 years ago and settled into her bones. She fought to the end. On May 18, 2017, she returned to the arms of her loving Heavenly Father and loved ones who preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed and her legacy continues through her 9 kids, 29 grandkids and 11 great-grandkids. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the River View 3rd Ward, 11420 South 700 West, South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah and on Thursday from 1:00-1:45 pm at the church. Interment at Riverton City Cemetery. Funeral Home: Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W.
