Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend found eternal peace on December 7, 2008, while surrounded by her family. \nGwen was born April 1, 1935 in Fresno, CA to Howard and Frances Vandervoort Pelletier. She met Kenneth Eugene Leaf and they were married on October 27, 1956. They moved to Utah in 1961. She was active as a Girl Scouts leader and an employee of the SLC School District from 1976-1991. \nMom grew to love the outdoors and especially the Utah mountains. Her greatest joy was time spent camping and fishing with her family and seeing her children and grandchildren grow. She will be forever loved and missed. \nShe was preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her husband, Ken and 8 children; Michelle (Norman) Nakamura, Robert (Tica) Leaf, Yvonne (Kenneth) Grant, Richard (Sherrie) Leaf, James (Nancy) Leaf, Erin (Art) Leaf, Brian (Janice) Leaf, Bruce Leaf; 19 grandchildren; and sisters Camille Dahlin and Ninon Cabrales. \nA private family gathering will be held Thursday, December 11th at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapels, So Jordan, UT. In lieu of flowers, Gwen requested that a donation be made to the American Heart Association.
