His mother later remarried and he was joined by a step-brother Gene Posell, and a half brother Jack Posell, both preceding him in death. Roy began his career with Dixon Paper Co. in 1935 advancing from the warehouse to manager, and retiring in 1982 after 47 years with the same company. Roy married the love of his life, Lucille Brimhall, on April 24, 1940, and they were married 59 years when Lucille passed away in 1999. Roy’s first passion in life was his family. As he called it, “the very ultimate joy”. Surviving are his 4 children, Kathy Brown (Tom), Pam Karn (Bruce), Scott Cannon (Ginger), Paul Cannon (Vanessa), 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 30 step-grandchildren. Roy’s other passion was his garden, growing exquisite daylilies, canna lilies and roses. He was a ham radio operator, enjoyed fishing and the whole outdoors. He was a master at training bluejays to eat out of his hand. Lucy and Roy enjoyed traveling together all over the world in their later years.
