Harold Frank Clayton passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at age 91. Born May 6, 1916 in Morgan, Utah to Rachel Lovinia Toone and John Henry Clayton. Married Laura Louise Higley March 30, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii; marriage later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Mom and Dad enjoyed 57 years together.\n\nHarold was preceded in death by his dear wife, Laura; his parents; and sisters, Reta and Ivy. Survived by children, Karen, Sharon (Craig) Smith, and Frank (Laurie) Clayton; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.\n\nHarold worked at various jobs over the years. In 1934, he started with CCC’s, joined the Forest Service, and later went to Hawaii during World War II (January 1942-1946). He worked later at the American Smelting Company in Murray. He then worked for Amoco for 22 years, and then worked for Auerbachs, and CIT Finances. Dad retired at age 73 from Zions Bank.\n\nDad loved the Utah Jazz and BYU football games. He also loved fishing with his son and grandsons.\n\nOur family would like to thank Hospice Specialists, Dr. Ed Wyne, Sandy Regional Healthcare, Highland Healthcare Center, Murray 10th Ward, and all of the home healthcare nurses Dad has had for the last nine years.\n\nGraveside Services will be held in Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper, Utah on Tuesday,\nJuly 3, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
