“Hal”Hal died on October 12, 2010. He was born to Nellie E. and John A. Pearson, Sr. on December 27, 1916 in Midvale, UT. Married Ruth N. Reed June 29, 1954. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Armed Forces in the US Army from 1941 to 1945. He served with the famous 7th Division and participated in overseas campaigns in the Aleutian, Philippine and Okinawa Islands and Rehabilitated in Oahu, Hawaiian Islands.Hal attended school in the Murray School District and graduated from Murray High School in 1935. He was employed by the U.S. Government and retired after 30 years of faithful service with the Veteran’s Administration.Hal liked gardening and music and spent many happy hours listening to his CD’s Records and Cassettes in his “music room.” He enjoyed all sports—especially fishing and bowling, and was an avid tennis player for many years. He also enjoyed taking short fishing and motor trips to Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, besides visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, plus Utah’s beautifully National Parks.Survived by his devoted and loving wife, Ruth of 56 years; two sons, Randy V. (wife, Janell) and Dan H. Pearson (wife, JeriLynn); grandchildren, Zachary and ShaeLee; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings.The Pearson family would like to thank Heartwood Hospice and At Home Personal Care nurses and aids for their care during Hal’s last few months.
