Having enjoyed a full and productive life, Herbert Clyde Coon passed away at age 85 on 26 September 2007. Clyde was born 9 December 1921 to Herbert and Ethel Coon. On 31 December 1945 Clyde was married to June Wright in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nHe attended Murray High School and graduated from the University of Utah in Military Science. He later graduated cum laude from the College of Dentistry at North Western University as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He practiced in Midvale for 40 years where he was a member of the Kiwanis Club.\n\nClyde attained the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force and served in the military during World War II and during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission as a guide on Temple Square and served a mission with his wife, June, in Nauvoo. He loved playing golf, dancing and playing bridge. He was a member of Hi-Steppers Dance Club for 50 years.\n\nHe is survived by his wife, June Wright; his sister Phyllis Erickson; his children Claudia Sundberg (Marlin), Tiffany Lundberg (Brent), Martin Coon (LuAnn), Paula Pulver (Brent), Virginia Winegar (Lorin); 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Zelma Coon (Stayner), and a grandson, Paul Pulver.\n\nThe family expresses thanks to the staff at Silverado for all of their kindness and competent care.\n\nA viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary at 4760 South State Street in Murray, Utah from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, 30 September 2007. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 1 October 2007 at the Little Cottonwood 5th Ward Chapel at 6350 South Rodeo Lane (1545 East), Murray, Utah 84121 at 11:00 A.M. with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 A.M. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive.
