Ila LaRayne Pearson Briggs

Our loving mother and wife passed away December 16, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 18, 1933 in Meadow, Utah to Ila and Stanley Pearson.

LaRayne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had the ability to magnify any church calling she was given with dignity and efficiency. She was delighted in her most recent calling as a Primary worker. She retired from the Salt Lake County Public Works - regarded as an excellent Administrative Assistant. She made many friends and accomplished much during her time with the County. LaRayne loved nature and working in her gardens. She loved her family and her home.

LaRayne is survived by her husband; L. Don Briggs, her children; Melanie (Mark) Pratt of Sandy, Randall (Karla) Briggs of Boise, Idaho, Camille Briggs of Sandy, her seven grandchildren; Matthew, Rachel, Amy, Kristine, Scott, Stephanie and Jennifer; and two sisters and one brother. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Little Cottonwood 18th Ward, 6410 South 725 East, where friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00-10:50 a.m. prior to the service. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
