Ilene Wetzel

Ilene Wetzel passed away on December 24, 2021 in South Jordan, UT at the age of 68. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ilene was born on April 16, 1953 in Elko, NV. The family relocated to Yerington, NV attending Yerington Elementary and High School where she graduated with the class of 1971.
Ilene met the love of her life in Salt Lake City and married Carl Wetzel, a marriage that would last for 44 wonderful years. Ilene enjoyed camping, traveling and four-wheeling. The accomplishment she enjoyed most was being an assistant Den Mother for the Cub Scouts troop number 4629. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Carl and Ilene were sealed in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple on 12/8/2021 for eternity.
She is survived by her husband Carl Wetzel, daughter Brandy Banks and son-in-law Mark Banks (IN), brother Marvin McCormick (Phoenix, AZ), brother and sister-in-law Robert and JoAnn Wetzel (Springfield, MO), sister Andra McCormick (Spanish Springs, NV), sister-in-law Joyce Arvig brother-in-law Steve Arvig (MO), brother and sister-in-law Earl and Lanie Greenwall (AZ), brother and sister-in-law Ward and Kathy Greenwall (CO) and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held January 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Highland 6th Ward Chapel 10115 Yorkshire Drive, South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services. Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
